STEWARD

EDUCATE

  • Maintain and upgrade the Kent Thomas Nature Center educational displays and building.

  • Host guest speakers to teach the community about the geology of Stark Mountain.

  • Sponsor the design and installation of interpretative signs on the geology of Stark Mountain to educate the community.

  • Develop and implement an environmental education curriculum for Stark Mountain.

  • Host the Spring of 2025 Vermont Master Naturalist Program in the Mad River Valley.

  • Help the Mad River Valley Bear Initiative protect black bears.

PLAY

  • Continue supporting local kids who can’t afford to ski by expanding the number of SMF Children's Ski Scholarship scholarships for the 2024-2025 season.

  • Cultivate the joys of reading and skiing by hosting the 7th annual StorySki.

  • Install kiosks to display SMF’s snowshoe and hiking maps so they are accessible to mountain visitors.
